Anneke en Bas

Wet-on-wet painting, or alla prima, is a painting technique in which fresh paint is added to previous layers of wet paint. With this technique, the work must be completed quickly. The paint used in our paintings is of course oil paint

Oil painting

Years ago, I took lessons in oil painting from Elmar Huisman. It’s really not my thing. A lot of fiddling with little result. You get the feel of it… not my thing. I’d rather have an airbrush.

That is, until I met Claudia Höpp from Ingolstadt. She offers training courses that train you to become a Bob Ross CRI. What a blast. The first few days, I still found it so-so. But suddenly, I got the hang of it. What a wonderful technique. Now I’m a fan of the alla prima technique.
